Ingredients of English Cottage Pie

  1. You need 1 kg of King Edward Potatoes.
  2. Prepare 500 grams of Lean Steak Mince Meat.
  3. You need 6 tbsp of Milk.
  4. It’s 3 of White Mushrooms.
  5. Prepare 2 tbsp of Butter.
  6. Prepare 1 of Green Bell Pepper.
  7. Prepare 1 of Carrott.
  8. You need 1 clove of Garlic.
  9. Prepare 1/2 of Red Onion.
  10. It’s 400 ml of Beef Stock.
  11. You need 100 grams of Grated Cheese.

English Cottage Pie step by step

  1. Preheat oven to No 5.
  2. Peel & boil potatoes, drain potatoes in collinder, then add milk & butter to pot, reheat until butter has melted. place boiled potatoes back in pot and mash well.
  3. Chop onion, mushroom, pepper & carrotts, crush garlic.
  4. In new pot add olive oil bring to low heat, add carrotts, onion, pepper, mushrooms & garlic fry for 5 mins.
  5. Add lean mince meat & beef stock to onion, mushroom & carrott mix pot. stir well & cook until meat is brown, 15 mins.
  6. Place meat mixture into oven baking dish, cover with mash potatoes & sprinkle over grated cheese.
  7. Place on middle oven shelf for 30 mins until surface is golden brown.
